Theatre Ancaster is a community musical theatre company with a reputation for quality productions.  Our mandate is to present excellent quality live musical theatre to the community and to assist in the development of musical theatre among the adults and youth of the community.

Stage 2: Jr. Broadway Company

Willy Wonka Jr.

Grab your golden ticket to see Willy Wonka Jr. as the delicious adventures of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical, performed by the Stage 2: Jr. Broadway company. Guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth!

Approximate show run time: Two 30-minute acts with a 15 minute intermission

Classics Company

Stranded

A freak winter storm, a stranded bus and an old house that appears right on cue. Join us as we explore the stories of a group of strangers travelling to see Come From Away as they navigate the storm, the mysteries of the old house and each other.  Members of the Classics Company are 55+ years of age.

Note: Stranded is a non-musical original script created and workshopped by the director and cast with assistance from Ancaster writer, Lois Gordon. Actors will use scripts on stage as needed, with set, props, and basic costuming.  There will be lighting, sound and some incidental music. Members of the Classics Company are 55+ years of age.

Running time: Under 2 hours with intermission

Classics Company

South Pacific in Concert

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved South Pacific comes to life at the Old Firehall Arts Centre in a special Concert Presentation. This story of cultures intersecting in wartime examines love and prejudice and brought challenging conversations to the American theatre.  The musical won the 1950 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

With a talented group of musicians on stage, our Classics cast will perform songs such as Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair, Bali Ha’i, and You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught.  You’re sure to have Some Enchanted Evening!  An event for the ears, mind and heart. 

Note: A Concert Presentation features all songs and most of the dialogue. The cast may use scripts, there are few props, limited staging and basic costuming. Members of the Classics Company are 55+ years of age.

June FrenchJune was an avid participant and supporter of Theatre Ancaster, and a dear friend. She loved everything about theatre but she loved the people more. June was a trooper with the heart of an angel. She will be missed but we will never forget her.
