Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA is a contemporary musical take on Verdi’s grand classic tale of the love between Radames, an Egyptian commander and Aida, an enslaved Nubian princess – a love that condemns them to death, but ultimately rises above the vast racial and cultural differences between their two warring nations.
