Take a Seat Campaign

The seats in the Theatre Auditorium at Ancaster High School have now been refurbished. New covering and new foam provide a new look and new comfort.

Here's a chance to say "Thank You" to someone you care about.

The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board completed this work and further upgrades to the 40 year old auditorium in the summer of 2008 in time for The 50th Anniversary of Ancaster High in 2009. They also repainted walls and ceiling and added new carpet...it’s all quite wonderful.

This refurbished facility has now become an exciting and wonderful venue not only for Theatre Ancaster shows but for the school and community at large.

Almost 300 people have donated to this refurbishing. Here’s how we hope you will play a part.

Each donation of $100.00 to Theatre Ancaster pays for the restoration of a seat and allows you to honour someone with an inscription on a brass plaque attached to the arm of the seat.

Theatre Ancaster is a registered charity (# 86893 8952 RR0001) and can provide a charitable receipt to you for the full amount of your donation for income tax purposes.

Theatre Ancaster in partnership with Ancaster High has helped maintain the auditorium since our inception in 1997...close to $100,000 in upgrades to the auditorium and cash donations to Ancaster High. The Take a Seat Campaign allows all of us who value theatre and a wonderful community auditorium to now play our part. We've “sold” more than 275 seats since introducing the idea.

We hope you will continue to support this campaign that in turn supports the community, the theatre, and the school while honouring family and friends.
