AUDITION NOTICE FOR BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

The following is a list of songs to prepare for auditions for Beauty and the Beast. In all cases please be prepared to sing with an accompanist. You may also bring a karaoke track, but in most cases we will ask you to sing without it.  To save the song file, please right-click on the link name and "Save As" the file on your computer.

For each adult role, please prepare the song specified and AN ADDITIONAL BROADWAY SONG that highlights your voice. We will require sheet music for all Broadway selections.

For all children’s roles, please only prepare a BROADWAY SONG that highlights your voice (one song only). We will require sheet music for all Broadway selections.

Dancers: We are requesting that all dancers first complete a singing audition. Two of the large dance numbers are full choral numbers and to be able to pick the best cast possible, we would like to hear everyone sing.  If you are a dancer, please indicate that on your audition form upon registration and we will take that into consideration when inviting participants to dance on Sunday June 8th.

Roles for Children: Please note, that apart from Chip there are no lead roles for children in this musical.  We will require two groups of children: Group 1) children who sing and move in group scenes, 1 major scene in Act 1 and one in Act 2. Group 2) children who sing and dance who will be in the group scenes as well as dance in Be Our Guest. We will try to incorporate them in other areas if possible.

·    Must be a boy with an unchanged voice

·    Must “present”  between the ages of 5-8 years of age

Feather Duster (Babette)

·    Ability to harmonize an asset

Wardrobe

·    Any broadway song that highlights your soprano voice

·    Ability to harmonize an asset

Chorus MALES

AUDITION DATES AND TIMES

1.      All auditions are located at the Old Firehall Arts Centre on Wilson Street in Ancaster

2.      The doors will open at 6:30 p.m:  Auditioners will be given an audition time upon arrival. There are no appointments scheduled ahead of time. Auditions will be granted on a first come first serve basis

3.      All children are asked to come on Sunday June 1st only. Doors will open at 12:30 pm. In the event that you have a conflict, please contact us via our website to see if alternate arrangements can be made.

4.      All auditioners will be asked to complete a singing audition first. Dance auditions will be held on Sunday June 8th by request. 

 

Sunday June 1st: 1 p.m:      Chip, Children’s Chorus

Monday June 2nd: 7 p.m:     Adult Vocal Auditions

Tuesday June 3rd: 7 p.m:     Adult Vocal Auditions

Wednesday June 4th: 7 p.m:   Adult Vocal Auditions

Thursday June 5th: 7 p.m:    Adult Vocal Auditions

Sunday June 8th: 1 p.m:      Dance auditions for all who are invited to attend

Sunday June 8th: 4 p.m:      Call backs as requested

Monday June 9th: 7 p.m:     Call backs as requested

Wednesday June 11th: 7 p.m:    Call backs as requested, dance if required
